Gray Stone Day is 10-0 against South Stanly since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Gray Stone Day suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Albemarle 72-24. Gray Stone Day has struggled against Albemarle recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, South Stanly had to suffer through a rough 81-11 loss at the hands of Union Academy. While losing is never fun, South Stanly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Union Academy is ranked 92nd).
Gray Stone Day has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for South Stanly, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Gray Stone Day skirted past South Stanly 40-38 in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gray Stone Day since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
