On Wednesday, Jefferson County got the win against Morristown-Hamblen East by a conclusive 12-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Olivia Mottern spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoe Lawson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one run, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayli Reece, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Jefferson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Seymour came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 19-6 margin over Carter on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Green Hornets on their field since April 21, 2022.
Seymour got a massive performance out of Baylee Lawson, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Terry, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Jefferson County's victory bumped their record up to 12-15-1. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Everything went Jefferson County's way against Seymour in their previous matchup back in March, as Jefferson County made off with a 14-5 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
