The Lamar Silver Foxes lost against the Kingstree Blazers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Lamar had to suffer through a rough 49-15 loss at the hands of Kingstree. Lamar has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
MAKAYLA DUKES was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 steals for Kingstree. That makes it four consecutive games in which DUKES has scored at least 25% of Kingstree's points. Another player making a difference was SANIYA TAYLOR, who scored nine points.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Kingstree, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hannah-Pamplico at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. Hannah-Pamplico is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Kingstree, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Marion is ranked 149th, while Kingstree is ranked 124th).
