The Golden Demons came into Wednesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 67-61 W over Pomona on Wednesday. The victory was just what Golden needed coming off of a 72-50 defeat in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Alex Erger, who scored 24 points. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Leif Hansen, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Pomona lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joshua James, who scored 19 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Hawkins, who scored 18 points.
Golden's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Pomona, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Golden will take on the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Mountain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,144 points over their last 16 games. As for Pomona, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lobos at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Conifer is ranked 278th, while the Panthers are ranked 272nd).
