This season hasn't been kind to the Southwest Wildcats, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were beaten by Braymer 72-25 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Southwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Braymer is ranked 64th).
Southwest struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Braymer racked up 22.
Braymer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Haley led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 7 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Caegan Sensenich, who scored 14 points.
Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Braymer, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest will take on Hardin-Central at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardin-Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Braymer won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tina-Avalon at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
