The Los Gatos Wildcats waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They strolled past Gunn with points to spare, taking the game 66-49. Given Los Gatos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Gunn is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Los Gatos was led to victory by Nolan G. koch and Scotty Brennan. G. koch scored 21 points along with seven rebounds, while Brennan scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brennan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronan Chinmulgund, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Los Gatos is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Gunn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Los Gatos will be playing in front of their home fans against Palo Alto at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gunn, they will head out on the road to square off against Wilcox at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Wilcox knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Gunn likes a good challenge.
