Hyde Park extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping them up to 10-6. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Grace Parscal and Kylie Yeager were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Parscal pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Yeager pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. At the plate, Parscal went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Yeager went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Parscal a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellis Fellin, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Finley Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Hyde Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Round Rock Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .350.
As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
On Round Rock Christian Academy's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stella Carter, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Carter is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hyde Park will host Sacred Heart at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Concordia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 24.75 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
