The Wellington Eagles will challenge the University Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wellington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Alamosa as they made off with a 14-4 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four contests in a row.

Taylor Morgan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Camryn Strain was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in September. London Morgan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Wellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alamosa only posted an OBP of .417.
Meanwhile, University made easy work of The Classical Academy on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win.
Like Wellington, University also got a great game from a two-way player: Jasi Cole. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Cole was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Sydney Goetzel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Emma Zacheis, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 22-4-1. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 25-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Wellington has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wellington might still be hurting after the 13-6 loss they got from University in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
