Talihina and Gore are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Golden Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Talihina's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Gore has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Talihina is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Allen: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Golden Tigers blew the Mustangs out of the water with a 54-17 final score. Fans of the Golden Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 13 passing touchdowns on the season. Noah Lloyd was another key player, picking up 150 receiving yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Talihina was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 229 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 202 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Talihina's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Samuel Bryant refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gore). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 58-0 victory over Mounds. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Gore's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Talihina, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
Everything came up roses for Talihina against Gore in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-6 victory. In that matchup, the Golden Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 34-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
