The Joseph City Wildcats can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy as Joseph City made off with a 56-32 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Joseph City who now have seven in a row.
Joseph City found their leader in underclassman Amber Neill, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Neill has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of April Neill, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloe Crandall, who scored 11 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crandall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Maeve Morgan, who scored five points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Joseph City has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Joseph City will face off against Williams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams is on a three-game streak of home wins, Joseph City a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Red Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Rock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Scottsdale Preparatory Academy is ranked 140th).
