The Lynbrook Owls will take on the Baldwin Bruins at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Monday, Lynbrook made easy work of North Shore and carried off a 12-1 win. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Bianca Lobosco was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Emma Mylan was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Lynbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Baldwin and Freeport, and Baldwin kept the tradition alive. The Bruins put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 17-1 win last Saturday. The matchup marked the Bruins' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Liv Pascual looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She also tossed a walk, marking her first of the season.
On the hitting side, Baldwin got a massive performance out of Akua Bonsu, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Bonsu has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Culbreath, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Baldwin's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lynbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lynbrook has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Baldwin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lynbrook skirted past Baldwin 10-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Owls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
