The Northside Christian Mustangs will take on the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside Christian has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Northside Christian was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene two weeks ago. They skirted past Foundation Christian Academy 12-11. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Aryah Walters made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Walters was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylee White, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy SMith, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Zephyrhills Christian Academy beat Grace Christian 8-5 on Tuesday.
Like Northside Christian, Zephyrhills Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Aubri Falls. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Falls has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Erin Fennell and Katelynn Blethen did most of the damage at the plate: Fennell scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Blethen scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Shelby Stevanus also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Northside Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Northside Christian took their win against Zephyrhills Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 13-4. Does Northside Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Zephyrhills Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
