The Bergen Catholic Crusaders had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 37-7 win over St. Peter's Prep. The result was nothing new for Bergen Catholic, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Bergen Catholic can attribute much of their success to Kaj Sanders, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Quincy Porter also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Bergen Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for St. Peter's Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bergen Catholic will take on Paramus Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paramus Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Bergen Catholic is ranked first). As for St. Peter's Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Seton Hall Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
