The De Anza Dons will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Saint Mary's Panthers at 7:00 p.m. De Anza is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
De Anza lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Salesian College Preparatory 89-49. De Anza was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-25.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Saint Mary's ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pinole Valley and snuck past 77-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
De Anza has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Saint Mary's, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
De Anza beat Saint Mary's 85-77 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does De Anza have another victory up their sleeve, or will Saint Mary's turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
