There's no place like home for the Elgin Academy Hilltoppers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-38 win over Chicago University on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Elgin Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Elgin Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rahul Gowda led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six assists and four steals. Gowda hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Chris Tacher, who scored 15 points.
Elgin Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Chicago University, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
