After a string of eight wins, Brookwood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oconee County Warriors. The Broncos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
Brookwood was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Oconee County work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 29-27.
Alyssa Feder paced Brookwood's offense, picking up seven kills. Feder really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15.
Oconee County can attribute much of their success to Sidney Tranel, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most digs Tranel has posted over her last 11 matches.
Brookwood's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Oconee County, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Coincidentally, Brookwood and Oconee County will both be playing Morgan County the next time they take the court. The Broncos will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
