River Ridge is 1-9 against Fivay since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The River Ridge Royal Knights' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Fivay Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact River Ridge proved on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 victory over Gulf.
River Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dareal KING out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points KING has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of JONATHAN CASAREZ, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Fivay earned a 60-50 win over Cypress Creek on Tuesday.
Fivay found their leader in underclassman Antwan Brown, who scored 11 points along with five assists. Odell Brown was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Fivay, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
River Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Fivay when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 62-55. Will River Ridge repeat their success, or does Fivay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
