II Section IV recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in II Section IV this week, Cibola beat Kofa 34-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Raiders.
Yuma took down San Luis 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Arturo Vargas in the win.
Lake Havasu's dynamic duo of GRADY ATKINS and Jacob Kalagonis proved tough for Gila Ridge to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. ATKINS threw for 397 yards and 2 touchdowns and Kalagonis had 131 yards receiving. Ashton Gallagher helped Lake Havasu's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 101 yards.
Abraham Thompson was a beast in the backfield as Cibola defeated the Kings.
He went 17-33 with 1 interception.
On the heels of Lucky Arvizo and Thompson, Lucky Arvizo's team has had great success on offense. Arvizo leads the league in passing with 1,946 yards, while Thompson has rushed for 987 yards this season. The Knights' GARRETT LINNENKAMP leads the league in receiving yards with 718 on 40 catches.
Thompson of the the Raiders is only 13 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Thompson has rushed for 987 yards on 141 carries so far this year.
Going into this week's contest against the Lancers, Cibola's Arvizo needs 54 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Criminals led the league in scoring this week by notching 45 points on the Sidewinders. Vargas during the win.
