On Thursday, Carolina Day made easy work of Blue Ridge Early College and carried off a 50-24 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Carolina Day.
Carolina Day had a senior duo take command as Taylor Williams dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds and Lily Everette dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Everette has scored at least 25% of Carolina Day's points. Valley Kitt was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Despite the loss, Blue Ridge Early College saw an underclassman step up: McKenzie Woods scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. Woods scored a full 41.7% of Blue Ridge Early College's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Kenney, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Carolina Day now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina Day will play host again and welcome The Master's Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Master's Academy will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Invest Collegiate Imagine at 6:00 p.m.
