After flying high against the American Heritage Academy Patriots last Thursday, the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate came back down to earth. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon was outmatched by Boulder City at home and fell 62-32. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Several Pirate players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Burks, who scored 11 points. The match was Burks' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradie Xaysana, who scored 9 points.
It was another big night for Luke Wright, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists for Boulder City. That makes it two consecutive games in which Wright has scored at least 25% of Boulder City's points. Another player making a difference was Sean Pendleton, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals.
Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Boulder City, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Doral Academy Red Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doral Academy Red Rock comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Boulder City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Sports Leadership & Management focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
