Volleyball Recap: Penn's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against NorthWood on Tuesday, Penn came back down to earth. The Kingsmen fell 3-1 to the Chesterton Trojans on Thursday. The Kingsmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Penn had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Loss or not, Penn got some senior leadership from Montana Swartz and Abby Lane. Swartz had ten digs and four aces, while Lane had 18 digs. Swartz also set a new season-high mark in assists with 32.

Having lost for the first time this season, Penn fell to 3-1. As for Chesterton, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Penn will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Carroll at 9:00 a.m. As for Chesterton, they will take on Andrean at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
