Denton is 2-8 against Ryan since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Denton Broncos will look to defend their home court against the Ryan Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Denton is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
On Tuesday, Denton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-44 to Birdville. While losing is never fun, Denton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Birdville is ranked 143rd).
Despite their defeat, Denton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Chase Thomas, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Sheats, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Ryan waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Grapevine by a score of 58-47.
Denton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season. As for Ryan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.
