After a string of four wins, the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The match between Rancho Alamitos and Godinez Fundamental wasn't particularly close, with Rancho Alamitos falling 67-51. Rancho Alamitos lost against Godinez Fundamental in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-46 score last time.
Despite the loss, Rancho Alamitos still got an impressive performance from Inoke Malo, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Timothy Phan, who scored 11 points.
Rancho Alamitos' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Godinez Fundamental, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Alamitos won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eastside Christian at 4:00 p.m. on December 13th. Eastside Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Godinez Fundamental will be home for the holidays to greet Oxford Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1113th, while Godinez Fundamental is ranked 478th).
