Garrison Forest lost against the Mount de Sales Academy Sailors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Garrison Forest took a 42-25 bruising from the Sailors. Garrison Forest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mount de Sales Academy was led to victory by Ashley Hawkins and Shelby Lewis. Hawkins scored six points along with ten rebounds and four steals, while Lewis dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hawkins grabbed two or more steals.
Garrison Forest dropped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Mount de Sales Academy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.
Garrison Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mount de Sales Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Winters Mill is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
