After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seffner Christian, the Gulf Buccaneers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over Berkeley Prep.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth Schwab, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds. Ariana Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
The win got Gulf back to even at 1-1. As for Berkeley Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Berkeley Prep, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Fivay at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st.
