Football Recap: Trinity Prep Takes a Loss

Trinity Prep lost against Cornerstone Charter Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saints lost 37-12 to the Ducks. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Trinity Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josh Shaw rushed for 127 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. Shaw has become a key player for the Saints: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Jackson Marsingill had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 74 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 108 receiving yards for Cornerstone Charter Academy. Connor Luckado was another key player, throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes.

Trinity Prep now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Prep will host Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will welcome Central Florida Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Ducks 14.3, the Eagles 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
