Union County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Woodruff on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wolverines a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Yellowjackets have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Union County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Woodruff, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will welcome Rock Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Yellowjackets' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Bearcats have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Woodruff, they will host Chesnee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
