Softball Recap: Tri Has No Trouble Against Winchester Community

Tri came out on top against Winchester Community on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Titans blew past the Golden Falcons 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won ten matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Macey Ballard made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Keirra Mettert was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lyla Williams was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Tri always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winchester Community only posted an OBP of .231.

The victory made it two in a row for Tri and bumps their season record up to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Winchester Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Tri will head out to take on Union County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Winchester Community, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northeastern at 5:30 p.m.
