Evergreen is 0-3 against Cedarcrest since April of 2025 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolverines will take on the Red Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Evergreen will be strutting in after a win while Cedarcrest will be coming in after a loss.
Evergreen took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cleveland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolverines came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles on Saturday, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since April 18, 2024.

Raiden Hang was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Evergreen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Tycean Martin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Evergreen hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Cedarcrest suffered their closest loss since May 2, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Nathan Hale by a score of 7-5.
Cedarcrest also got a good showing from Colt Norris, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Cedarcrest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Tyler Questad was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Cedarcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Evergreen, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Evergreen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .514. However, it's not like Cedarcrest struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Evergreen couldn't quite get it done against Cedarcrest when the teams last played last Friday as they fell 11-6. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
