Ocracoke suffered their biggest loss since November 17, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Cape Hatteras 56-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Ocracoke has suffered against Cape Hatteras since February 5, 2020.
Meanwhile, Hobgood Charter took a serious blow against Bear Grass Charter on Tuesday, falling 59-27. Hobgood Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ocracoke's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.5 points per game. As for Hobgood Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Ocracoke beat Hobgood Charter 48-41 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ocracoke since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
