Fruita Monument is 9-1 against Grand Junction Central since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Fruita Monument Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Grand Junction Central Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Fruita Monument is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Colorado (they are ranked 24th, while Grand Junction Central is ranked 85th).
Last Saturday, Fruita Monument was able to grind out a solid win over Chaparral, taking the game 53-41.
Fruita Monument's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cambelle Brammer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, and Addison Eyre, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailee Wagner, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 41-37 to Durango.
Fruita Monument has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Grand Junction Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Fruita Monument strolled past Grand Junction Central when the teams last played last Friday by a score of 70-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fruita Monument since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
