Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jackson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against McIntosh on Saturday as Jackson made off with a 62-38 victory. Given the Aggies' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Demons are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson's win came from a few key players Escambia County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joseph Taylor, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeyun Chapman, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven blocks and six boards.
Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for Escambia County, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Escambia County and Jackson are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Escambia County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.3 points per game. However, it's not like Jackson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 55.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Escambia County couldn't quite finish off Jackson in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 37-35. Will Escambia County have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
