Last Tuesday, Heritage Academy escaped with a win against Glenview College Prep by the margin of a single free throw, 63-62.
Heritage Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaden Bergman, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bergman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Campbell, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Southwest Leadership Academy earned a 68-61 win over Empower College Prep on Tuesday.
It was another big night for Serious Sykes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 rebounds. Sykes is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Uriel Poblete was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Heritage Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Southwest Leadership Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Everything came up roses for Heritage Academy against Southwest Leadership Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 72-44 win.
