The Battle Creek Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Ponca with a sharp 46-22 victory on Thursday. The win was just business as usual for Battle Creek, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.
Battle Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jadyn Buckendahl out in front who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn Smutny, who scored eight points.
Battle Creek's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Ponca, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Battle Creek and Norfolk Catholic will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Hopefully Norfolk Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. Ponca will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crofton on January 2, 2024. Crofton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Ponca likes a good challenge.
