They breezed by Gadsden County at home to the tune of 65-15. Given Godby's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Gadsden County is ranked 442nd), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Godby's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aniyah Lewis led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Lewis is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kenijah Clayton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Godby's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Gadsden County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Godby will head out on the road to face off against Rutherford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rutherford will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. As for Gadsden County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Taylor County at 5:30 p.m.
