Katy (Texas) took an early lead against Alief Taylor (Houston, Texas) and held on for a 49-0 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers put up 21 points in the opening quarter. Katy scored on a touchdown run by
Rodney Anderson, a
Kyle Porter touchdown run and a touchdown run by Anderson.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Anderson in the first quarter, KHS was up 43-0 at the half.
The Tigers grew their lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. Katy scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by
Manny Mendoza.
KHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 31-0.
The defeat comes as a step back for Alief Taylor, who notched a 22-9 victory over Bellaire in its previous outing.
In a non-conference game next week Alief Taylor (1-1) takes on Fort Bend Hightower, and Katy (2-0) will go up against The Woodlands also in a non-conference game.
