Neshaminy has gone a perfect 7-0 against Abington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Skins will welcome the Galloping Ghosts at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Neshaminy's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Abington has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Neshaminy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Pennsbury, who was ranked seventh at the time (Neshaminy was ranked 21st). The Skins came up short against the Falcons on Thursday, falling 10-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Skins, who until this contest were averaging 2.7 runs allowed.
Chase Bonner made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Abington came up short against Lower Moreland on Friday and fell 5-2.
Abington also got a good showing from Nick Casiano, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Casiano gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, Abington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wagner De Leon, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Kevin Kelly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Neshaminy's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Abington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Abington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Neshaminy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Abington, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Neshaminy's hitters?
