The Hastings Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to square off against the Tuckahoe Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hastings is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Hastings is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Valhalla on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets have beaten the Vikings the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

Jackson Acree was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hastings is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Acree was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kieran McGrath, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Julius Stephens was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Hastings kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Tuckahoe came out on top against Blind Brook on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Tigers never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Declan McColgan tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Luca Delconte was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Vincent Justino, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Hastings' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Tuckahoe, their record is now 6-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hastings has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tuckahoe struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hastings took their win against Tuckahoe in their previous matchup back in June of 2021 by a conclusive 11-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
