Soccer Game Preview: Notre Dame de Sion vs. Pembroke Hill

Notre Dame de Sion is a perfect 8-0 against Pembroke Hill since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Storm will look to defend their home pitch against the Raiders at 6:30 p.m.

Notre Dame de Sion fell victim to St. Michael the Archangel and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Guardians by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Notre Dame de Sion came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 14th, while St. Michael the Archangel are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, Pembroke Hill came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eagles.

Pembroke Hill's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Notre Dame de Sion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Notre Dame de Sion beat Pembroke Hill by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
