The Filer Wildcats will challenge the Buhl Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Buhl will be up against a hot Filer team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats put the hurt on Teton with a sharp 19-8 win on Saturday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Drayson Smith made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Aydyn Burns was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hyde Bangerter, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Filer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Buhl had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 13-3 victory.
Remington Higley was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Miguel Flores was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Buhl's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Filer, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Buhl's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Filer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Buhl, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain Filer's hitters?
Filer suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Buhl in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
