Brookfield has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mineral Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Warriors will challenge the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Brookfield has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Brookfield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Southeast, falling 14-7. The Warriors have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Mineral Ridge gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Western Reserve as they made off with a 19-9 victory. Considering the Rams have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Randi Blackann was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laney Rigley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Mineral Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Mineral Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Brookfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Everything went Brookfield's way against Mineral Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, as Brookfield made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
