Moberly is 2-8 against the Tigers since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Moberly Spartans will be playing at home against the Kirksville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Moberly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, Moberly suffered a rough 75-50 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Moberly in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite their defeat, Moberly saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cameron Doubrava, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ethan Land, who scored eight points.
Moberly struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Kirksville put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on North Point with a sharp 62-36 win. Given Kirksville's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Moberly has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Kirksville, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Moberly came up short against the Tigers when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 61-50. Will Moberly have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
