Basketball Recap: Benedictine Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

Benedictine had won 12 straight home games dating back to last season and Caleb Jones did his part to make it 13 on Friday. The Benedictine Cadets came out on top against the Ware County Gators by a score of 71-58 thanks in part to Jones, who went 11 for 16 on his way to 39 points along with eight boards and three steals. The game was his 45th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Williams, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Benedictine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Ware County, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Benedictine will head out on the road to challenge Warner Robins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Benedictine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ware County, they will be playing at home against Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ware County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Perry likes a good challenge.
