Central Georgia Arts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 36-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Twiggs Academy. Central Georgia Arts lost against Twiggs Academy in their previous head to head on December 7th, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 34-16 score last time.
Twiggs Academy was led to victory by Megan Favors and Mallory Nobles. Favors scored seven points along with seven steals, while Nobles scored 14 points. Nobles also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Lavender, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Central Georgia Arts has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Twiggs Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Georgia Arts has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Windsor Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Twiggs Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on John Hancock Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
