After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the second quarter, Columbine led
21-9 at the half.
CHS expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. The Littleton school
scored two times in the third, including once on Michael Burns's touchdown
pass.
Burns was the best player for the Rebels in the game.
He
threw one touchdown.
This series has historically been close, with Columbine holding a 1-0 record
over the past two games between the two teams. The Lambkins's lone touchdown
came on a 4-yard run in the second quarter. A 28-10 Columbine victory was also
the result when the squads faced off last season.
In a non-conference game tilt next week Columbine (1-0) takes on
Fountain-Fort Carson, and Fort Collins (0-1) will go up against Cherokee Trail
in a non-conference game.
