The Liberty Hill Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Harlandale Indians at 7:00 p.m.
After a string of four wins, Liberty Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 33-23 to Pieper. While losing is never fun, Liberty Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Pieper is ranked 124th).
Although Liberty Hill took the loss, they still got scores from Garrett Lindgren, Jack Pitchford, and Ben Carter.
Even if they lost, Liberty Hill's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Pieper's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. In that department, Jacob Morris was the leader with two sacks.
Meanwhile, Harlandale can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat McCollum 48-21 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Harlandale.
Harlandale's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zion Molina, who rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Saucedo, who threw for 233 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt.
Pieper's win bumped their season record to 9-1 while Liberty Hill's defeat dropped theirs to 6-4.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Liberty Hill and Harlandale haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Liberty Hill commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.4 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Harlandale struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
