Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Arcadia Titans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 42-7 loss at the hands of the Shamrocks. Arcadia's loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Braylen Rooney threw for 187 yards and a touchdown. Carter Pruitt was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards.
Yuma Catholic was led to victory by Nash Ott and Tayt Ford. Ott threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, while Ford rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Ford has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last seven times he's played. Hunter Hancock was in the mix too, providing Yuma Catholic with two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Arcadia to a paltry 242 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Yuma Catholic's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out three times before it was all said and done. In that department, Trenton Blomquist was the leader with two sacks.
Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Yuma Catholic, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Arcadia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Yuma Catholic will look to defend their home field on Friday against Canyon del Oro at 4:00 p.m. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Canyon del Oro: 12.4, Yuma Catholic: 12.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
