The Thrasher Rebels fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Falkner Eagles on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Falkner's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Mauney, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mauney has scored at least a third of Falkner's points. Another player making a difference was Chris Nunley, who scored 25 points along with four steals.
Thrasher has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Falkner, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
Thrasher does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Falkner also has no future games currently scheduled.
