Basketball Game Preview: Potomac Senior Panthers vs. Woodbridge Vikings

Potomac Senior is 9-1 against Woodbridge since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Potomac Senior Panthers will take on the Woodbridge Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Potomac Senior comes in on six and Woodbridge on five.

Potomac Senior will head into Friday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 56-point drubbing they dealt Hylton on Friday. Potomac Senior claimed a resounding 90-34 victory over Hylton. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Potomac Senior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amani Asare, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points. Asare's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Medwyn Oduko Authur, who went 8 of 9 on his way to 17 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Woodbridge got the win against Paul Public Charter International on Saturday by a conclusive 67-47. The win was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 162nd in Virginia, while the Pirates are ranked 21st in District of Columbia).

Woodbridge is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Potomac Senior, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Potomac Senior strolled past Woodbridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 56-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Potomac Senior since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
