Jackson Prep extended the longest winning streak in MAIS AAA I District 2 this week by beating Presbyterian Christian, 24-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Parklane Academy took down Hillcrest Christian 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Jackson Prep's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Buchanan threw for 111 and one touchdown and Hamel McGraw had 52 yards receiving. On the ground McGraw chipped in 119 yards. Zach Williams helped Jackson Prep's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Jackson Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Buchanan has thrown for 748 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Williams has six catches for 221 yards. McGraw leads the league in rushing with 760 yards.
The Bobcats made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,754 from 1,818. The improvement came about via a 24-7 victory over Presbyterian Christian last week.
